My first event
I went the Arts Council Celebrate the Arts Night. It was my first time photographing an event and I have to say even though I am not super happy with the results I am happy with how much I learned. I got to meet the fabulous Stephanie Sale a photographer and when she addressed me as a peer I completely panicked and forgot how to operate my camera. 🤦🏾♀️ I can't even. I may have forgotten to talk for a few long seconds. 🙃 I guess I need to work at considering myself a photographer. Here are a few of the photographs I took. Like I said I learned a lot so I decided to share some of it.
Taken while watching Cowboys: A Documentary Portrait
- Drawn to it because of all the reflections of the glasses and the sanitizer bottle stands out as a sign of the times.
- I cropped a lot of water bottles.
- I would have liked to have removed the water bottle.
Fabulous lady that exemplified the theme of the night.
- Wish I would have shifted her so the background wasn't so bright.
Pair of ladies that were perfectly dressed.
- I originally took a full body shot because I really liked their whole outfit including their boots.
- The lady in white had a jacket in her hand and it just didn’t look right so I cropped it out.
- I bet she would’ve happily put it down but I didn't even think to ask. LEARN, LEARN, LEARN
Centerpiece
- I cropped some but the biggest change was removing a water bottle (they were everywhere) from the bottom right.
- It would’ve taken me 2 seconds to remove it and the one behind the centerpiece but I didn’t think about it. LEARN, LEARN, LEARN
Bud Force after the showing of his movie Cowboys: A Documentary Portrait
- I did something really cool in Photoshop. The curtain didn't go all the way to the right. I cloned it and it went poof and matched perfectly. I know it didn’t actually go poof but that's how it felt to me so 🤷🏾♀️🙃.
